Synopsis
The film continues the story of "Mission:
Impossible – Dead Reckoning," where Ethan Hunt and his team face a threat
from an evil artificial intelligence known as "the Entity." They must
race against time to prevent a global catastrophe planned by "the
Entity."
Production
The film was announced in January 2019, with
Christopher McQuarrie returning as director and writer. The film was originally
planned to shoot back-to-back with “Dead Reckoning,” but those plans changed.
Principal photography took place in various locations, including the United
Kingdom, Malta, Norway, and South Africa. The film experienced several release
delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, before
finally being scheduled for release in May 2025.
